Certificates of Approval and Other Environmental Permitting and Reporting

Most industrial and commercial activities require a variety of environmental permits. In addition, some activities involving assessment and remediation of a contaminated site require permits and remediation design and document approval from federal, provincial and/or local permitting agencies. Envirovision Inc.'s staff is familiar with current regulations associated with environmental permitting at all levels of government. We have developed efficient and effective methods for obtaining required permits from governmental agencies. Envirovision has obtained approvals and permits for numerous clients in Ontario.

According to the Environmental Protection Act (Ontario):

No person shall, except under and in accordance with a Certificate of Approval...construct, alter or replace any plant, structure, equipment...that may be discharging a contamination to any part of the natural environment other than water...

The requirements to obtain approval under the Environmental Protection Act (Ontario) are very broad and can apply to anything from a comfort heater to a petrochemical plant. Envirovision uses approved air emission models for industrial facilities to expedite the process of obtaining permits and preparing periodic reports for regulatory agencies.

The following activities are required in preparation of an application for a
Certificate of Approval (Air):
Site inspection
Documentation collection (e.g., drawings, production data, equipment specifications)
Dispersion modeling
Draft roof layout
Report preparation, including completion of Source Summary Table and
Emission
Summary Table

Similar activities are required in preparation of the following:
Certificates of Approval for storage, transport, transfer and/or disposal sites
Wastewater Discharge Permits
Waste Generator Registration

Envirovision is specialized in preparing the annual National Pollution Release Inventory documentation required by Environment Canada and the Ministry of the Environment - Ontario Regulation 127/01 (Airborne Contaminant Discharge Monitoring and Reporting).
